Transcript of The Road to Revolution

Conflicting Claims
Three nations claimed portions of the same piece of land of North America. That piece of land, known as the Ohio Valley, was claimed by Spain, France, and Britain. By 1750 the French tried to drive out the British. The British saw this as an act of war and decided to retaliate. Thus began the French and Indian War.

The Treaty of Paris 1763
At the conclusion of the war in 1763 the Treaty of Paris was signed. The Treaty stated that most of the lands of Canada were now the territory of Britain. Britain now owned all lands to the east of the Mississippi River, and lands of Spanish Florida.
