Amelia Earhart Amelia Earhart was born on July 24th, 1897 in Atchison, Kansas. Her family included her mother Amy, her father Edward, and her little sister Muriel. Important things Amelia Earhart did: Amelia has done many things, but what she is known for the most is being the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. Amelia broke many records including, the record for flying at the highest altitude,which is 18,415 feet, becoming the first person to fly solo across the Pacific Ocean, and many more. 5 traits that Amelia Earhart possessed: Amelia was brave.
She went on dangerous flights through bad weather and flew over huge oceans. She was adventurous. When she was a kid she built a roller coaster in her backyard using an old slide and other things she found around the house. Amelia was courageous. She had a lot of courage to do something that woman did not normally do. Lastly, Amelia was committed. She always stuck to her job of flying. Even, when it seemed terrifying she never gave up.
