Transcript of Hello By: Adele

Hello By: Adele
1. "I must have called a thousand times."

This is a hyperbole because she couldn't of really called a thousand times she is just exaggerating.
Hello from the other side
At least I can say that I've tried
To tell you I'm sorry for breaking your heart
But it don't matter it clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore
Ooooohh, anymore
Ooooohh, anymore
Ooooohh, anymore
Anymore
Hello from the other side
I must have called you a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry for everything I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home
Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I've tried
To tell you I'm sorry for breaking your heart
But it don't matter it clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore
Hello from the other side
I must have called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry for everything I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home
Hello from the other side
At least I can say that I've tried
To tell you I'm sorry for breaking your heart
But it don't matter it clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore
Personification
1. "They say that time's supposed to heal ya."
2. "I've forgotten how it felt before the world fell at our feet."

These are examples of personification because time really can't heal you and the world can"t fall at your feet.

Hello, it's me
I was wondering if after all these years you'd like to meet
To go over everything
They say that time's supposed to heal ya
But I ain't done much healing
Hello, can you hear me
I'm in California dreaming about who we used to be
When we were younger and free
I've forgotten how it felt before the world fell at our feet
There's such a difference between us
And a million miles
Hello, how are you?
It's so typical of me to talk about myself I'm sorry
I hope that your well
Did you ever make it out of that town where nothing ever happened
It's no secret that the both of us
Are running out of time
So hello from the other side
I must have called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry for everything that I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home
Hyperbole
1. "To go over everything."

This is a example of assonance because the vowel "o" is being repeated.
Assonance
Alliteration
1. "I've forgotten how it felt before the world fell at our feet."

This is a example of alliteration because the beginning letter of "f" is repeated throughout the line.
Theme
The meaning of this song is that Adele broke the heart of her ex-boyfriend and she keeps trying to call him to say sorry. But he never picks up the phone. So, she wrote this song hoping that he listens to it, so that he knows that she is sorry for what she has done.
