The Printing Press by

Arianna Harris
Eboni Agee The printing press was invented by Johannes Gutenberg in 1440 Citations http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Printing_press http://www.adptcm.com/PrntHst/h3.htm 1400 1900 1800 The printing press doesn't have any existing patents, because it is was invented before the existence of patents. Existing Patents It was originally made out of wood and metal, and used the technology of screw-type wine presses. The printing press went from steam power, to a double-press, and then to a monotype machine.

These improvements were made to make printing more efficient. Invented by Remington Rand 1953 2000 THANK YOU
FOR WATCHING! :] Discipline of engineering for the development of the printing press:
Manufacturing Engineering, because the manufacturing engineers oversaw, designed, and managed the printing process. Discipline of engineering for the development of innovations based on the printing press:
Mechanical Engineering, because some of the later innovations were powered by steam engines which were designed by mechanical engineers. If we had the ability to change the printing press we would....

make it out of a durable, noncorrosive metal rather than wood
have it use recycled paper instead of sheep wool
have it use nontoxic ink http://www.sinc.sunysb.edu/Stu/hnaseer/photo.htm
