In the 2000s many fabrics were used to create the signature style. Most commonly used was cotton and linen to create the casual style of clothing. An array of denim colors were used as well, from colors white to almost black and everything in between. Silk was used for dresses and long tunic like shirts.
In the 2000s there was an explosion of color. In Spring, shades of lime, peach, yellow, pink, deep red and orange were commonly worn. In the Summer, shades of bright purple and blue were worn a lot. Shades of blue were common in pants.

Fashion Throughout the 2000's
For kids and teenagers Disney Channel productions were very popular.

Silly Bandz were another popular item during the mid 2000's.
Britney Spears was a fashion icon since her song 'Hit Me Baby One More Time' came out in 1999 and she rose to more fame when her song 'Toxic' came out in 2003.
Avril Lavigne also was a major trendsetter, mainly for the younger generations.
Sarah Jessica Parker became one of the biggest fashion icons of the decade after landing her role in “ Sex and the City”.
A big label in the mid to late 2000s was Abercrombie and Fitch.
Some big hair trends in the early 2000's were dark hair that has chunky blonde highlights commonly and blond hair that had pink streaks running through it.

Some popular shoe brands in the 2000s were Crocs and Skechers. Many kids also wore Heelys. Trends for women were coach shoes and UGGs. Trends for men were Lacoste.
Some popular clothing trends were layered tank tops, off the shoulder shirts, Juicy Couture tracksuits, rhinestoned sports style clothing, baggy pants, flared jeans, dress with jeans and polo shirts. Leggings also came back usually being paired with layered tank tops or long tunics.
Overall, the fashion of the early 2000s was much different then our style now or the even previous decades that it took inspiration from. Throughout the decade the trends were constantly changing and the fashion near the end of the decade was much different then the begging. A popular trend for teenagers during the early 2000's was MySpace.

9/11 - The bombing of the twin towers lead to a more casual style
One of the most popular products of the early 2000s was the first generation iPod.
A major label in the early 2000s was Juicy Couture.
Ralph Lauren was a very popular brandy for guys in the early to mid 2000s.
Other popular brands included Sketchers, True Religion and Coach.
Women commonly dyed their hair bottle blonde and men could be seen wearing their hair in spikes.
Crimped hair was very popular among teens girls and young adults.
The early 2000's had many clothing parallels to previous decades, mostly to the 1990's and 1980's. Some of the most common parallels included chokers and slap bracelets. Another clothing parallel was sports jackets from brands like Adidas. Inspired by the 80s, neon colours came back into style.

Today, we will be exploring the fashion and trends from the early to late 2000s. Filled with eccentric designs and daring colours, the 2000s was a decade to remember. Although the 2000's did not have their own specific style, previous trends took a major part in the fashion industry. The decade was also one of the first to include more revealing fashion into their everyday life.
