Impact Project Highlights
Teacher Leadership & School Policy--Kentucky
Teacher Fellow Katrina Boone has created a model for teacher leadership teams that form to address specific issues and create policy. She has piloted the model at her high school, and along with a group of teacher-leaders, they have designed and drafted policies that effectively address school issues, such as the school schedule and evaluation systems while remaining in the classroom.
Fellow Michael Cormack is part of a coalition to get an initiative that will incorporate language of the right to an education into Mississippi’s constitution passed. He worked on a massive public outreach campaign to get the 200,000 signatures needed to have this amendment added to the ballot, which included countless meetings, multiple op-eds, and radio and TV interviews.
