His amazing life's journey Franklin Pierce Childhood: Franklin Pierce was born on November 23 1804, in Hilsboro New Hampshire. Franklin grew up with 4 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 half sister. When he was 5 years old he fell off of a horse,and doctors thought that he might never walk again. Franklin was a healthy boy so he quickly recovered. He was very athletic even before sports came in to the picture. As a young boy Franklin went to a local private school, when he was 12 years old he went on to a boarding school called Hancock Academy. Franklin Pierce died in Concord New Hampshire on October 8 1869. Adulthood Important Parts Of Presidency Cool Facts Franklin Pierce University Franklin Pierce met his wife Jane Means Appleton in 1828 while in Amhearst, NH, and married her in 1834. Together they had three children, all of which sadly died before adulthood.
