How Paying for Water
is not Only Costing Us,
but the Environment 2. Bottled water is
healthier and more regulated
than tap water. 3. Bottled water is
a good purchase. 4. Bottled water is
sustainable and good for
the environment if recycled. Bottled water -- FDA (Food and Drug Administration)
Tap water -- EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) 400 - 2,000 times more expensive
5 cents/ounce bottled
1 cent/gallon tap
2 cents/ounce for gasoline! 2 gallons wasted per 1 gallon put in bottles
47 million gallons of oil per year to produce
80% of all bottled water is not recycled
The Bottled
Water Industry 1. Bottled water tastes better than tap water. 1/2 billion used each
week in the U.S.
(that would circle the globe more than 5 times!) So what do we do? 1. Stop buying bottled water.
2. Use a reusable plastic bottle or stainless steel thermos instead.
