Electronic Communication Devices
The purpose of the TCSS is to provide an effective, challenging, and engaging education for all students.
The primary goal of the technology environment is to support the educational and instructional endeavors of students and employees of TCSS. Use of ANY and all technology resources is a privilege and not a right.
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) such as but not limited to laptops, cell phones, smart-phones, iTouch/iPods/iPads/slate or tablets devices, cameras or other electronic devices used on school grounds are subject to all items covered in the TCSS policy and other applicable published documents.
During the administration
of standardized tests students
should not bring cell phone or electronic devices into the testing location.
What consequences are we committed to stand by?
School officials are delegated the authority to maintain a safe and orderly environment to facilitate teaching and learning.

Policies and guidelines are driven by a sense of fairness and due consideration for the unique and personal needs of students.
If you are caught texting or visiting social media sites during class, in the hallway, in the cafeteria or in-school assemblies you will face the following consequences:
The board of education, school district,
schools and employees of the system
assume no responsibility or liability for the theft, loss, or damage to any personal
devices or the inappropriate and/or
misconduct use of an individual's devices
using non-district provided broadband or
Students are not permitted to operate or use any cellular or electronic device while being transported by district transportation services. (Student Code of Conduct JDEA 2.19)
All electronic devices will be solely used for instructional purposes. Students cannot talk on, text, twitter, Facebook or use any other form of non-instructional social media during school hours.
*Students MUST use the phone in the Attendance Office to make calls. Parents should contact students through the school office.
Violations of School and Board Policy:
1st Offense: Electronic device taken and parent pick-up the next day.
2nd Offense: Electronic device taken for 5 days and 1 day of after- school detention.
3rd Offense: Electronic device taken for 10 days and 1 day out-of- school suspension.
Defiance or refusal to give up electronic device to school personnel will result in 3 days out-of-school suspension for 1st offense and 5 days out-of-school suspension for 2nd offense.
Phones should be TURNED OFF during school hours unless being used for instructional purposes.
