Japanese art of paper folding "ori" means folding "kami" means paper CLASSICAL ORIGAMI generally made from one piece of paper MODULER ORIGAMI made from a lot of similar pieces of paper KIRIGAMI THE ORIGAMI HISTORY It began in China in the first or second century.
After that it spread in Japan in the seventieth century. At first, there was very little paper available.Because it was very expensive. As easier papermaking methods were developed,paper became less expensive. For centuries there were no written directions for folding origami models. In 1797 "How to fold 1000 cranes" were published. Today ,master paperfolders can be found many places around the world.Akira Yoshizawa(1911-2005)is one of these.
