What is a Trend and a Factor?
Trends and factors are two different things.
A trend is a general direction in which something is developing or changing. (Oxford Dictionary,2013)
A factor is a circumstance, fact, or influence that contributes to a result. (Oxford Dictionary,2013)

Tropical Storm Bejisa is forecast to hit Mauritius today on after battering the Indian Ocean island of La Reunion on 2nd January.
Damage to homes and flash flooding is expected with winds gusting over 120 miles an hour, the BBC reported.

Reported on January 3rd 2014-
Heathrow is to investigate whether its proposal for a third runway has stronger local community support than an alternative plan to extend the airport’s northern runway.
Heathrow regards aircraft noise as the biggest barrier to its expansion, and one person close to the company stressed it was too early to say whether the airport would back Heathrow Hub’s plan – based on Lowe’s idea, according to the newspaper.
(Travel Weekly.co.uk, 2014)
Support from the local residents who live by the flight path matters, because this could be disruptive as new communities would be exposed to jet noise because the third runway would be located to the northwest of its existing site.
Reported on January 3rd 2014-
More than 2,300 flights were cancelled with more expected as a major snowstorm hit the northeast of the US on 2nd January.
Chicago O’Hare was among the worst affected airports with more than 650 flight cancellations, while Liberty and LaGuardia in New York were also suffering together with Cleveland-Hopkins in Ohio.
As much as 12 inches of snow is expected to fall in New York, coupled with freezing temperatures and strong winds. Boston was expecting up to 18 inches of snow and sub-zero temperatures.
Forecasters estimated that about 100 million people in 22 states were in the path of the storm.
A state for emergency was declared by the governors of New York and New Jersey as the storm was expected to worsen overnight into this morning.
Temperatures in parts of Canada plunged to hit minus 46°C in Quebec.

MSC Cruises will visit Asia and Australia for the first time in 2015.
MSC Orchestra will sail on an all-inclusive Grand Voyage from Dubai to Perth, Australia, calling at Asia along the way. The line has sailed from Dubai before, but it will be MSC’s first time calling in all of the countries featured on the new itinerary.
The 33-night cruise will depart on February 21, stopping in Mumbai and Cochin, India; Colombo, Sri Lanka; Langkawi, Malaysia; Singapore; and Benoa, Bali.
The Australia stops include Cairns; Brisbane; Sydney; Melbourne; Adelaide and Fremantle (Perth). The calls in Singapore and Sydney are overnight stays.
'Grenade attacks on Kenya beach'
Reported on January 3rd 2014-
At least 10 people have been injured in a grenade attack at a Kenyan tourist resort south of Mombasa.
The grenade was thrown into the Tandoori Bar, full of New Year revellers, in the town of Diani in the early hours of this morning.
According to reports, the injured were taken to hospital and are in a stable condition. One was badly injured and had to undergo surgery.
No-one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but it follows others blamed by the Kenyan Government on Islamist militants.
In September, gunmen stormed into a shopping centre in the country's capital, Nairobi, killing at least 67 civilians.
Last month, two British tourists driving between Diani and Mombassa escaped unharmed when a grenade thrown at their car failed to explode.
Updates show that 10 people so far, have been injured. 4/1/14

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Makkah Real Estate Company have signed an agreement to build the world's largest Holiday Inn.
The 1,238-room Holiday Inn Makkah is due to open in Saudi Arabia in 2016.
Both parties said the deal is in response to the boom in religious tourism in Saudi Arabia.
More than half of all inbound tourists to Saudi Arabia travel to the religious cities of Makkah and Medinah throughout the year.
This will be the first Holiday Inn on the Pilgrimage route and will be located in Makkah's Al Aziziyah area.
