Amendment four is search and seizure. This is the amendment that allows you to tell the police no they can't search your car, home, or business without a warrant.
This law applies when
An individual is stopped for police questioning while walking down the street.
If the individual is pulled over for a major traffic infraction, and the police officer ask to search the vehicle's trunk.
An individual is arrested or if the police officers go into the individuals house to arrest them.
Or if the officers enter an individuals home to search for evidence of a crime without a warrant.
If the police officers enter a corporations place of business to search for evidence of crime.
If police officers confiscate an individuals vehicle.
Amendment 4 quick summary
The fourth amendment is the right of the people to be secure in their homes, themselves, and their documents against unreasonable searches and seizures. This shall not be violated and no warrant shall not be issued without a probable cause supported by oath that the person or their belongings need to be searched or seized.
The third amendment guarantees that the quartering of soldiers in private homes would be prohibited in peacetime and wartime.
The Third Amendment is intended to protect citizens’ rights to the ownership and use of their property without intrusion by the government.
Amendment 3 affect on us today
The third amendment affects us today because if this law wasn't passed then soldiers could practically come and live with you and yo0u would have to provide for them.
If ISIS were to come over here and attack the U.S then the citizens of the U.S would be allowed to tell the United States troops that they can't stay in their homes so they wouldn't have to care for them.
