Sloths are the worlds slowest animals. Algae grows on their furry coat giving them a greenish tint. They live in Central and South America's rainforest.Sloths are identified by the number of toes they have on each front foot. There are two-toed and three-toed sloths. All sloths live in treetops. They hang upside down with a powerful grip from their long claws. Sloths are almost always sleeping. They sleep for about 15-20 hours a day! Even when they are awake they are motionless.two toed sloths are especially silent. Sloths eat leaves, shoots, and fruit. They get almost all their water from juicy plants. Sloths give birth while hanging upside down. They are very week on the ground. If they are they are stuck on the they have no chance to defend their selves from predators but try to defend them selves by clawing or biting. Sloths are very good swimmers they even fall from tops of trees into rivers. Two- toed sloths are bigger than three- toed sloths and two-toed sloths can survive in captivity. On the other hand three-toed sloths cannot.
