January 30, 1933 Adolf Hitler becomes the Chancellor of Germany. Also the starting of the Holocaust. June 28, 1919 Germany along with others signed the Treaty of Versailles formally ending WWI. 1932 The Nazi party won the majority of the vote in the election. February 27, 1933 Reichstag building was burned. The Reichstag building was the place of the German Parliament. The Nazi's blamed the fire on the Communists. March 4, 1933 President Franklin Delano Roosevelt was elected. He remained president throughout the Holocaust March 5, 1933 Individual German states are stripped of their powers. March 22, 1933 The SS established a concentration camp. It was the only camp to remain in operation until 1945. The camp was called Dachau. June 27, 1933 London Jews held a massive anti-Nazi rally. 1934 Hitler was in full control of Germany. Late 1941 Chelmno was he first extermination camp. It began operating in late 1941. It's purpose was to methodical kill innocent people. The extermination camps were also called 'Death Factories'. September 15, 1935 Nuremberg Laws enacted. The Nuremberg Laws were the legal basis for the Jews exclusion from German Society and the progressively restrictive Jewish policies of the Germans. November 9-10, 1938 "Kristallnach", or Night of Broken Glass, occurs. September 1939 June 1941 Germany attacked the Soviet Union which started the "Final Solution". March 24, 1933 German Parliament passes Enabling Act giving Hitler dictatorial power. August 2, 1943 German President, von Hindenburg, dies. Hitler becomes Führer which means "Absolute Leader". November 1940 Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia become Nazi Allies. November 15, 1940 Warsaw Ghetto is sealed off. Germany invated Poland which started World War II. May 8, 1945 The war in Europe finally ended. It's also the end of the Holocaust. Over 6 million Jews were murdered.
