The tribes has been always been an interesting aspect in our society. Their sense of independence and isolation captivates me since they are unique in their own way.
I have always adored and embraced the designs of Dolce&Gabbana; therefore their S/S 13 collection inspired me by their modern tribal,baroque and Sicilian twist.
About Tribal Fashion
For two seasons, going-native has been a major trendsetter in the fashion industry. The tribal trend takes on an African twist along with its vivid colors and playful textures and patterns. It unleashes the inner tribal warrior.
Fall/Winter 14/15
Singer "Rihanna"'s hit single "Where have you been"'portrays an African theme music video depicting the tribes culture.

Tribal Couture
The meeting between tribal and couture has finally been embellished. It is a new way to approach the essence of chic along with a tribal coordination.
The gowns are structured and it gives a more sophisticated feel to the line-up; all of these are beautifully crafted, incredibly worked pieces. The silhouette is long and lean.

This season, fashion takes an exotic turn with an explosion of tribal looks and prints. Embellishments were everywhere on the catwalk and you can really feel the autumn/winter in the air with them. The silhouette is depicted as short.

From the beautiful hand painted shearlings to the seemingly endless parade of throws and scarves, the tribal wrap gives an sense of warmth and comfort.
The print & pattern for these collections are the ikat prints.
The silhouette is elongated and relaxed.
The "Savage chic” has been presented in this collection & it offers several themes in this collection including colorful furs and tribal motif sweaters. Of particular note are the chunky furs in pumpkin orange, browns, beiges and ivory that prepares u for the winter frost.
The fabric used are fox, mink and leather.
The silhouette is interpreted as short or long & slim and the print & pattern is dappled skin prints.

From a calming blue to the more electric deeper shade, blue is a cool and crystalline hue.
The prints and patterns are the Myriad and Genado prints; and the detail & trim are basically beaded embellishments.
The silhouette is short or long and lean.
Additionally,the fabrics used are crepe de chine and cotton.

The new monochrome for autumn looks to optical art and jungle-inspired prints for a hypnotic take on this classic palette.
The maxi dress was the foundation of this collection, coming in a variety of silhouettes ranging from long-sleeved and form-fitting with a deep V-neckline to sleeveless with flowing skirts. These dresses were energized with bold Chinle patterns, beaded embellishments and cut-outs. The crepe de chine and chiffon fabric added texture to the collection.

The tryian purple is actually mixed with other contrasting colors but it still maintains to be the focused hue of the apparels.
Handmade textiles and intense, sparkling embroideries are used in this fabulous collection.

The colorful palette shows a luminous glow along with an interesting mixture between contradicting hues.

Hot Prints is one of the hottest and modish tribal trends.
The mixture of the colorful palette, prints and a sharp belt completes a bold statement Tribal patterns worked as intricate beaded all-overs combined with graphic striped borders and the details & trims is mainly beading. The silhouette is basically an unstructured sporty layers balanced by strict body-con. The fabrics used are sequins, silk and satin.

The Bold embroidery and delicate fabrics captured the essence of the baroque tribal trend. These gowns/apparels may appear to be an Empress's closet due to its rich embellishments, colors and fabric.

The wardrobe of a warrior princess is influenced by the tribal culture and the strength and courage is interpreted in the collections.
The silhouette is elongated, draped, layered and waisted.
The print and pattern includes checkerboard patterns (Alexander Mcqueen Collection ), beadings, skull printed, grey and white graphic dress (Camilla Franks Collection) and all over sequins (Givenchy Collection).
The details and trims are all-over beading and intricate embroidery.

This collection of mini-A line dresses with full skirts
shows the inner tribal chicness. The color palette includes mostly a backdrop of true black hosted an intense spectrum of vivid brights.
The embroidery was boldly used to create patterns and motifs from a vast range of cultural reference points which spanned tribal, Aztec, and tile patterns.
The heavy embellishment, fabric panelling, castellated hems completes the details & trims. The fabrics of this chic collection are cotton, embroidery and lace.

The floor-length column gowns included bold embroidery, and delicate lace fabrics and they are the driving forces of the collections. The haute couture shows an elegant, chic and luxurious side of the tribal trend.

Summer may be all about light bright colors, but black also fits, especially in the summer shades.
The dark pallete gives a more elegant, chic and classic look
to the outfit.

LIGHTS
Neon brights, tie-dye prints and a spritz of graffiti tribal prints adds up to a colorful and sharp summer.
Summer Brights
The colour palette for the season ranges from pastels, with sky blue winning the medal as number one colour trend, with accents of orange or coral red come fuchsia.

Accessories
A contemporary take on tribal prints from all over the globe, from Amazonian forest pygmies to African tribes people or Papuasian natives. The naïf prints and patterns served as an inspiration for the season and as a remainder of the art of nature.
Tribal Jewelry includes

chunky necklaces & bangos/bracelets
along with big loop earings. The jewelry also has also many aztec and native patterns.
