mass = a measure of the amount of matter of an object
An object's weight is NOT the same as its mass. Weight is dependent on the strength of gravity but mass is not.
You might weigh 30 kg (66 lbs) on Earth but because space has no gravity, you would weigh 0 kg (0 lbs) there but your mass would still be 30 kg.
A body's mass on Earth stays the same in space.
Mass is weighed in kilograms or grams.
Weight is measured in pounds and ounces.

a measure of how much thermal energy an object has
atoms & molecules of object w/ high temperature are moving faster than atoms & molecules w/ low temperature
Tools for Measuring Mass/Weight:
weight = a measure of the pull of gravity on an object
Customary Units of Weight
1,000 mg = 1 g
1,000 g = 1 kg
16 ounces (oz) = 1 pound (lb)
2,000 lbs = 1 ton (T)
For water: 1 = 1 gram = 1 mL
Tool for Measuring Temperature:
Units of Temperature:
-> freezing point of water = 0 degrees Celsius
-> boiling point of water = 100 degrees Celsius
-> avg. body temperature = 37 degrees Celsius
-> freezing point of water = 32 degrees Fahrenheit
-> boiling point of water = 212 degrees Fahrenheit
-> avg. body temperature = 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit
