The Desktop and The Laptop: A Comparison
Transcript of The Desktop and The Laptop: A Comparison
Both laptops and desktops have motherboards. The motherboard is basically the main circuit board that all of the others connect to. By "talking" to each other, all of the parts of the desktop and laptop work together to do their jobs.
Both desktops and laptops have a screen that uses pixels to display all of the the activity that you are doing. There are very small squares that form the shapes of the screen that you're looking at. Some squares can be larger than others, which causes the quality of pictures to fluctuate.
Another difference between desktops and laptops is that typically, the desktop is more powerful. Desktops are usually faster and laptops, resulting in faster work and faster gaming. This makes desktops more enjoyable if you are looking to get things done with speed.
Due to the greater size of the desktop, there is more space for memory and storage. This allows for more things to be downloaded on desktop computers. Since laptops don't have as much space as desktops, they usually have less memory.
The Desktop and The Laptop
Both the desktop and the laptop can be used to download software. This allows you to type up documents, make presentations, play virtual games, listen to songs, watch videos, edit photos, use web browsers, and do many other jobs on the desktop and laptop.
Desktops and laptops both have a memory called RAM. RAM stands for random access memory. They can store memory so you don't lose your data. Things like word documents, games, and videos use up the RAM space when you are using them.
Although there are many similarities between desktops and laptops, they are still different things. Which is why I will start talking about their differences.
Laptops can be more luxurious because of their battery. Their chargeable batteries can provide energy to laptops for many hours. The desktop, however have to be hooked up to outlets to receive energy. This makes laptops more desirable because they have the ability to work in blackouts.
The desktop is easier to upgrade than laptops. Due to the desktops' parts having more space, this allows for parts to be easily removed and for new parts to be installed. The laptops' parts are more compact, so it is more challenging to upgrade parts.
Desktops and laptops have very many differences and similarities. This prezi will take you through them.
To start us off, I'll begin with the similarities.
One similarity is that they are both used as programmed machines that are used for work or leisure.
The first difference of desktops and laptops is that laptops are more portable. Desktops often have big monitors to display the screen and a rectangular box that has all of the computer parts running inside it. They also usually have a keyboard and a mouse. However, laptops are smaller than desktops. They have a touch pad integrated into the laptop that substitutes for a mouse, and the keyboard is also made into the laptop. This makes laptops much more portable and lighter than desktops.
