We were expecting more.
Holden is ashamed of failing even though he was the one that caused his own embarasment.
The baseball glove or mitt represents Holden's brother Allie.
Holden criticized others harshly to feel superior.
Depression causes Holden to not think.
Holden once again gets expelled from school and is scared of what his parents are going to say.
What does Holden's future hold?
Holden has been told many times to get his grades up and to pay attention in class, but he refused to listen.

Sometimes making the wrong decisions can have a positive outcome.
Holden seems vulnerable because his emotions and reactions are predicable.
