in the Philippines
Inclusive education is a basic service for all types of exceptional children
Salamanca Statement:
Inclusion is the commitment to educate each child, to the maximum extent appropriate, in the school and classroom he or she would otherwise attend. It involves bringing the support services to the child and requires only that the child will benefit from being in the class (rather than having to keep up with the other students).
What is inclusive education?
Partial Inclusion:
students with special needs are educated in regular classes for nearly all of the day, or at least for more than half of the day
the students receive additional help or special instruction outside the general classroom

Full Inclusion
the students with special needs are always educated alongside students without special needs, as the first and desired option while maintaining appropriate supports and services
Types of Inclusion
implementing and maintaining warm and accepting classroom communities that embrace and respect diversity and difference
implements a multilevel, multimodal curriculum
prepares regular teachers and special education teachers to teach interactively
provides support for teachers to break down barriers of professional isolation

Referral and special services from experts
psychologists, medical doctors, speech therapists, shadow teachers
Assistive Devices
braille writer, slate and stylus, books watch
hearing aids, sign language books, speech kit
IEP, mobility devices
