Born: November 14th, 1900
Died: December 2nd, 1990

Composer of American music.
Fanfare for the Common Man
Piece was written in 1942 for the Cincinnati Symphony. Copland was said to have been inspired by a speech by Vice President Henry Wallace proclaiming the arrival of "the century of the Common Man."
