When the gargoyle says: "Fly my pretties, fly" It is an Allusion to The Wizard of Oz. The three headed dog, Fluffy, is an allusion to the Greek mythological creature, Cerberus. Another example of allusion is in one of the Harry Potter books: Another Example of Foreshadow: In the opening of The Wizard of Oz, the transformation of Miss Gulch into a witch on a broomstick foreshadows her reappearance as Dorothy's enemy in Oz.
