Artificial Intelligence Aren't humans intelligent enough...?? WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE(A.I) Great question right? Basic !dea Gathering information Processing Performing action artificial intelligence is the intelligence of machines or software and is a branch of computer science that studies and develops intelligents machines and software Games you play
speech recognition How a robot learns? IS THIS REALLY A.I? How a robot interact socially Humanoids! Hollywood would have you believe that AI will lead to an end of world scenario where Terminators hunt
the remaining human survivors from the nuclear warthat Skynet started after becoming self aware… but this simply isn’t true. DEFINITION OF A.I The study of man-made computational devices and systems which can be made to act in a manner which we would be inclined to call intelligent. CENTRAL PROBLEM OR GOAL The central problems or goals of a.i research include reasoning, knowledge, planning, learning, communication perception and the ability to move and manipulate objects For instance Robot recognizes certain action
Store this information
Attempts the action Human language recognition
Voice inflexion
Tone of speech
Visual cue
Appropriate respond How does AI fits into our world....?? Sole purpose is to aid and supplement natural intelligence
Save time
Increase efficiency
Save labour and its costs
Handle large amount of digital data and process it with ease
Unconventional control structure
Lower level actions
Accurate human intelligence A.I ORiGiNS In 1950 Alan Turing published a landmark paper in which he speculated about the possibility of creating machines with true intelligence.
He noted that intelligence is difficult to define and devised his famous Turing Test.
The test involved having a conversation with a machine via a teleprinter to determine intelligence levels.
No computer has passed the test, yet. Computers use fixed programming
Need machines that can think of a problem in a way that humans do
Artificial intelligence aims to improve machine behaviour in tackling complex tasks Motivation Two main approches:
Classical approach(symbolical reasoning) How does artificial intelligence work Advantages and
Disadvantages expert system
