Transcript of Mercury

Because of the size of Mercury and nearness to the brightly shine from the Sun, it is hard to see Mercury from the Earth without a telescope. The Mercury is similar to the Moon.
•Its surface is very old.
•Its surface is heavily cratered.
•It seems to have to plate tectonics.
Mercury is much denser than the Moon. After the Earth, Mercury is the densest major body in the whole Solar System. Mercury’s dense iron core is bigger than the Earth’s. Mercury has many steep slopes and cliffs, it is enormous. This was caused by the erosion and faulting. Some of the cliffs and slopes are hundreds of miles by length and up to 2 miles high. It is estimated that the surface of Mercury shrank 0.1 percent. There was an evidence of water ice in the protected shadows of some craters Where is Mercury? Mercury is the planet nearest the Sun, the ninth planet from the last.
It is the smallest planet, since Pluto is a dwarf planet.. It is about 36 million miles away from the Sun. Mercury's diameter is 4879 km. While Earth's is 12,756 km. Actually, Mercury is not much larger than our Moon, which its diameter is 3475 km. How big is Mercury? The Atmosphere Fill with helium and hydrogen
traces. It has a very thin atmosphere of the atoms blasted into space by the solar wind. This is because the Mercury is so hot so the atoms escaped into space. There are no natural satellites on Mercury Interesting Facts Interesting Facts Interesting Facts Interesting Facts Half of the other side of Mercury have never been seen! Interesting Facts Mercury was named by the Romans after the fleet-footed messenger of the gods because it seemed to move more quickly than any other planet. Interesting Facts Interesting Facts Mercury can only be seen early morning and in twilight. Mercury has a large iron core, which generates a magnetic field about 1% as strong as that of the Earth. Interesting Facts The first visit to Mercury was made by the Mariner 10 spacecraft, in 1974. Interesting Facts The second visit to Mercury was by 'MESSENGER' spacecraft. If you were to stand on Mercury, Sun would appear two and a half times bigger than what it looks from Earth. Interesting Facts Mercury THANK YOU
