S.W.A.T Meaning special weapons and tactics History The first swat team was established in Los Angeles in 1968. They are a group of police oficers that esspicialy trained with dangerous Situations What They Are It was made because there was to many hostel situations Duties SWAT duties include:

* Hostage rescue.
* Crime suppression.
* Perimeter security against snipers for visiting dignitaries.
* Providing superior assault firepower in certain situations, e.g. barricaded suspects.
* Rescuing officers and citizens captured or endangered by gunfire.
* Countering terrorist operations in U.S. cities.
* Resolving high-risk situations with a minimum loss of life, injury, or property damage.
* Resolving situations involving barricaded subjects (specifically covered by a Hostage Barricade Team

A Hostage Barricade Team is a police unit that handles hostage negotiations. The firstformalized hostage negotiation process was created by Frank Bolz of the New York Police Department....
