And Similarties K-Pop Vs. Pop Differences Background What is K-Pop? Is a musical genre consisting of dance, electronic, electropop, hip hop, and R&B music originating from South Korea. What Is Pop? popular music which is generally thought of as a genre which is commercially recorded and desires to have a mass audience appeal. Both genres share similar taste in clothing, Like fashion designer like Jeremy Scott. Both pop genres mainly use electronic instruments, such as Sequencer, Sampler, Bass guitar, Electronic guitar, Electronic keyboards, Acoustic guitar and Drums. Instruments Used Both genres have a fan base that consists of young adults and teens, but American pop appeals to the masses.
