Day 1

Today I flew to Costa Rica. It was an 8 hour and 45 minute flight. When I got out of the airport i noticed it was really hot. The climate is in the tropical zone. The climate type is tropical wet. It rains a lot in San Jose and is somewhat hot. I drove to the hotel. I swam there for a little bit. Then I explored the city. It is a very interesting city. They speak Spanish because they were explored by the Spanish people and then colonized by the Spanish. I can't wait to find out more about San Jose.

Day 2

Today I went to the Museos del Blanco Central de Costa Rica. This museum was really cool! It had lots of items made of gold. There were 20,000 ounces of gold in that museum. There was 2,000 gold objects there. It was very cool to see objects from pre-Coloumbian culture. I learned a lot at this museum and wish to go back. There was also a display of coins and stamps. I think some of the coins were very cool. I think this museum was great and wish to go back!

Day 3

Today I went to the Museo de Arte Costarricense. This is an art musum. It has Costa Rican art in it. There are some very pretty paintings. Also a lot of the paintings included the culture of Costa Rican people. There was many paintings made by local artists and international artists. Besides paintings there were also sculptures. It was very cool to experience Costa Rican art through very well done artwork. I thought this museum thought me a lot about the Costa Rican culture.

Day 4

Today I went to the Museo de Jade Fidel Tristán. This museum had jade artifacts. I think it was really cool to see lots of jade. Jade is a very pretty rock. There were artifacts from 500 BC to 800 AD. There were some necklaces and pendants. Also there was figurines of animals and humans. It was interesting to see what people made in the pre-Columbian times. They also had many vases. The vases have very interesting and modern designs. There was a vase that had human teeth incorporated into it.

Day 5

Today I went to the Museo Nacional de Costa Rica. This was a history museum. It had the actual barracks from the 1948 civil war. In the barracks there were bunks that the soldiers slept in. In the barracks building there were real bullet holes from the war. There was also a jade craving of a seashell and a hand holding an animal. That carving was 2,500 years old. Something that was also very cool was that there was a butterfly garden. This butterfly garden is new to the museum and has 25 different types of butterflies. Overall I thought this was a great museum to learn about the history of Costa Rica!

Day 6

Today I went to the Spyrogyra Butterfly Garden. I thought this was a very cool and interesting way to end my Costa Rica trip. This butterfly garden thought you about the life cycle of butterflies. There was a very informational video for 18 minutes. At this butterfly garden I saw at least 10 different types of butterflies. It was very cool to see all the different colors of butterflies. Also the lunch here was great. It was a great way to relax on one of the last days in Costa Rica. I would definitely come here again!

Day 7

Today I had to leave San Jose, Costa Rica. I really liked San Jose. It had a different culture than Milwaukee or Chicago. I had to check-out at 8:00 am. Then I drove to the airport. I had to passed time by reading local newspapers and magazines. It was very interseting reading the Costa Rican news. I waited for a while then it came. The time to board the plane. I was excited to get back home but disappointed to leave Costa Rica. It was an 7 hour and 54 minute flight back. I really enjoyed Costa Rica and want to go back!
