Who is Brigitte Bardot?
Brigitte Bardot is a former French actress, singer and fashion model. Brigitte was born on September 28, 1934 in Paris France. She started her acting career in 1952 and became world famous in 1975. Throughout her career she stared in 47 films and recorded over 60 songs. Some films she stared in were Doctor at sea, Les dents longues, Le portrait de son père, Viva Maria and Dear Brigitte.
Bardot remarried four times. On December 21st 1952 Brigitte married director Roger Vandim, but divorced five years later. Brigitte and Roger still remained friends and even collaborated in later work. A few years later she married Jacques Charrier and had her only child whom she named Nicolas-Jacques Charrier. Bardot's third marriage was to German millionaire Gunter Sachs. She later divorced Sachs too. Bardot's fourth and current husband is Bernard D'Ormale; they have been married since August 16th 1992.
In 1973, Bardot told the public world that she was retiring. After appearing in more than forty motion pictures and recording several music albums, she chose to use her fame to promote animal rights. Later in 1986 she established the Brigitte Bardot Foundation for the Welfare and Protection of Animals. She raised funds by selling her jewelry and personal belongings. She has donated more than $140,000 over two years to Bucharest’s stray dogs.
