SETTING Wendy Mass Age 45 The book won the People's Choice award Wrote in 2006 One of Wendy Mass's more recent books I chose this book because of the mystery. There were always more and more twists, which made it hard to put down. She left you wondering.... Lizzy This story takes place in Manhattan, New York and in modern times. In the entire story about a month passes. Jeremy and Lizzy have only the month of July to find all the keys so that Jeremy can open the box on his birthday. Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life By Wendy Mass Lauren Breemeersch p.5 EVENTS EVENTS "Maybe some things are not meant to be known. Maybe they are just meant to be accepted" LIZZY Jeremy Lizzy THEME Conflict Resolution This book has many conflicts. The main conflict is how Jeremy is going to find the keys for the wooden box his dad has left for him. Jeremy received the box in the mail and was told to open it on his 13th birthday. Unfortunately none of the keys came with the box and are nowhere to be found. The resolution of this story comes from a place very unexpected. Jeremy and Lizzy are shocked to find that maybe the answer to the puzzle is closer to them then they expected. Wendy Mass I love this quote because it represents that maybe you aren't supposed to know every little detail. Maybe there is a reason you are not finding all the information you want to know. V I D E O The theme of this book is to never give up. Stay determined and focused and you will reach your goal. no matter how hard it is stick with it. The theme of this book is to never give up. stay determined and focused and you will reach your goal. No matter how hard it is, stick with it!! "Some choices are forever." . "The universe resonates to certain musical vibrations. All the stars and planets revolve in harmony with it. When I play, I'm a part of that. When you listen, you're a part of it, too." . "Reach for the moon, even if you miss you will land among the stars." . QUOTES I love Lizzy because she is very determined. She likes to believe that she can do anything she sets her mind to. When it comes to finding the keys, she thinks that there is no possible way to NOT find them. There is nothing she can't do!! “Life is short...eat desert first!” “Do you ever think if people heard our conversations they'd lock us up?"
"All the time.” “It's not an old book, or a treasure map. Nope. Staring up at me was a pile of rocks.” 3/5 STARS I would recommend this book for people who like mysteries with a twist ending Overall i liked this book. It was interesting and i liked the mystery, But i really didn't like the ending. Jeremy and his friend Lizzy have been friends forever. They are off of school for the summer and a wooden box comes in the mail. It is addressed to Jeremy from his father, who passed away when Jeremy was young. On the box it says to open it on his 13th birthday. Jeremy and Lizzy have to find all four keys to open the box by his birthday, which is in a month. THE END
