3/4 cup of butter
3cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. unsweetened cocoa powder 3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 ounce red food coloring 1 1/1 cups buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/1 tsp. vinegar
Butter cream frosting Preheat oven to 350 Instructions Grease and flower three 8x1-1/2 round baking pans set aside Let the eggs and butter stand for 30 min. one at a time, add eggs: beat on medium speed. beat in food coloring at low In large mixing bowl beat butter on medium high for 30 sec. add sugar and vanilla beat until combined Stir together baking soda and vinegar. add to batter. beat until combined Alternately add flour mixture and buttermilk to egg mixture: beat on low medium until combined remove from pans: cool Spread in prepared pans. Bake 20-30 min.cool in pans on wire racks 10 min. in a medium bowl combine flour, cocoa powder, and the salt set aside Stack the cakes and frost each layer
