Iron Age A block and tackle is a system of two or more pulleys with a rope or cable threaded between them, usually used to lift or pull heavy loads. Block and tackle Pump A metal lathe or metalworking lathe is a large class of lathes designed for precisely machining relatively hard materials. Lathe A pump is a device that moves fluids liquids or gases, or sometimes slurries, by mechanical action A dagger is a fighting weapon with a sharp point designed or capable of being used as a thrusting or stabbing weapon Iron Dagger A chisel is a tool with a characteristically shaped cutting edge (such that wood chisels have lent part of their name to a particular grind) of blade on its end, for carving or cutting a hard material such as wood, stone, or metal. The handle and blade of some types of chisel are made of metal or wood with a sharp edge in it. Iron chisel The axe, or ax, is an implement that has been used for millennia to shape, split and cut wood; to harvest timber; as a weapon; and as a ceremonial or heraldic symbol.
