Member of the Minnesota Chippewa tribe
Is a writer by profession; started her career as a journalist, and has written poetry, essays, short stories, and reviews.

Anishinaabe is the largest Indian group in Minnesota
The name means "original people"
Connotative Meaning
Connotative - Connotation refers to the emotional associations that you think of when you see or hear a certain word.
Connotations can be positive, negative, or neutral, depending on the experiences that you associate with it. (ex. storm)
Denotative Meaning
Denotation refers to the strict dictionary meaning of words.
ex. storm
