Defend his work on the atom and its contribution to the modern atomic model.
Point out which contributions are present in the modern atomic model and which were eventually disproven and thus are not part of the modern model.
Currently we believe that every single element are composed of atoms. We know that those atoms aren't indestructible. Atoms are split in nuclear reactions, and they are made up of even number of small particles. We also know that atoms of the same element can have different masses, when they represent different isotopes. Despite the differences, Dalton's atomic theory remains useful to this day.

He had two people in his family survive an illness. Him and his brother were born colorblind. They were really poor, his dad earned money because he was a hand loom weaver. Since his family were poor, he helped them out after he one year at a Quaker school. He started teacher there at 12 years of age. He was interested in chemistry, meterology and physics.

His scientific theory was :
All matter is made of atoms.
Atoms cant be destroyed or created.
All atoms of a given element are identical in mass and properties.
Compounds are formed by a combination of two or more different kinds of atoms.
A chemical reaction occurs when atoms are rearranged.
