Transcript of Beatitude Project
By: Sean Esqueda
Nick Vaglica A peacemaker in my life is my Aunt Jean. She is a peacemaker because when ever i get angry or mad at someone, she calms me down and tells me why you should always try to see the good in people. Also, she is a peacemaker because whenever my mom and dad get in a fight my mom would call her to talk to my dad and get him to cool down. My Aunt Jean knows how to create peace in any situation there is. What do the Beatitudes mean to me?
I used the arrow pointing towards the ring as a symbol for the Beatitudes because the Beatitudes teach us to put God before anything else. It is what God tells us what is right. The arrow is pointing up to a halo ring meaning that the Beatitudes lead us towards heaven. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the Children of God. We chose these trees as a symbol for this Beatitude because it is a part of nature. Nature is a place where you can go to find peace. There are no distractions and you are allowed to think alone. The trees are part of a recreational area that I went to to think alone when I had problems. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. We chose dead flowers as a symbol of this Beatitude because it represents a time of mourning. Anytime we see dying or dead flowers, we think of death and sadness. But after, we remember all the good memories we had with that person and it cheers us up. A time that I mourned was when my grandfather died. I was only 6 at the time but because of all the people around that were depressed and crying i knew that it was a time to mourn. So instead of sitting in the kids room my cousins and I went with the adults to mourn my granfather's death. This was the first time I experienced someone die. We eventually went over all the memories we had with him, and we shared with each other. This cheered us all up. Blessed are the clean of heart, for they shall see God. I want to do well in school because if you do well in school you have opportunities to be successful in life. Pleasing my parents is a good feeling on the in side knowing that they feel proud of you.. To have a good relationship with God is to keep your faith strong and to have something to believe in. My dog is pure-hearted because he doesn't do anything bad to anyone and he always is kind and compassionate to other people. My sister's motives are to do well in school and just keep working. I chose the ocean as a symbol of this Beatitude because the water is pure and doesn't hurt anyone. It provides a habitat for marine organisms, provides a resource for humans to live, and has many ecological and economical uses. It doesn't need anything back and we just use it. It is pure-hearted (figuratively) and is useful. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. We chose the Holy Bible as a symbol for this Beatitude because if we want to recieve God, we can do it through the Bible. It satisfies our hunger and thrist for knowledge about God. It tells us God's teaching and prayers. It is a key factor in listening and learning from God. An injustice that I am deeply concerned about is cyber bullying. Cyberbulling is when you threaten or slander over the Internet in any fashion. I am trying to stop it by confronting the people that are victims to cyberbullying and telling them that they are awesome the way they are. The words that other people say don't matter in your life and can't hurt you if you do not let them. The END!!!!
