The Road Not Taken
Transcript of The Road Not Taken
My freshman year I had the hopes of one day pursing a career in a field related to technical theater and I set out to do that.
My time as a tech was the most bittersweet experience, it allowed me to do so many new things I never imagined possible. I met some of the most awesome people ever and it was an unforgettable year but I realized I didn't want to do this later in life.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood.
I was confronted with two options:
Stay at my present school
My goals were quickly being accomplished and my ambition for pursing a health/medical career was growing.
This year I've accomplished many things, like getting CPR certified. My current goal/dream is to become a doctor.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
I'd like to attend UM for Medical school because they:
spend $346.6 million on research
are ranked as one of the top 50 best medical schools in the US
Many years after surviving Med school,
I'd like to see myself working in a hospital.
living in a bigger city.
starting to live life with no worries of school
I'd like to travel around the world
Practice medicine in third world countries
Move to Dubai
Eventually down the road I'll maybe get married.
Wherever my future takes me after college I just want to be able to make a change in someone's life and help them regain their happiness and health. As for myself I'd just want to be happy with whatever I do.
