Quotes :
Dr. Seuss
“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...”
― Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You'll Go!
“You're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So... get on your way!”
― Dr. Seuss,
Oh, The Places You'll Go!
“You'll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You'll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step, Step with care and great tact. And remember that life's A Great Balancing Act. And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed! (98 and ¾ percent guaranteed) Kid, you'll move mountains.”
― Dr. Seuss,
Oh, The Places You'll Go!
“Oh the places you'll go! There is fun to be done! There are points to be scored. There are games to be won. And the magical things you can do with that ball will make you the winning-est winner of all.”
― Dr. Seuss,
Oh, The Places You’ll Go!
“Things may happen and often do to people as brainy and footsy as you”
― Dr. Seuss,
Oh, The Places You'll Go!
“You won't lag behind, because you'll have the speed.
You'll pass the whole gang and you'll soon take the lead.
Wherever you fly, you'll be best of the best.
Wherever you go, you will top all the rest."
--- Dr. Seuss,
Oh, The Places You'll Go!
Tidbits and little page things:
For each page and sport use a different shoe tread. For example, track could have a dynamic running shoe, the math team a Converse hightop, etc.
Have different page backgrounds be different places where footprints have been made.
Page Dividers
Themed slogans for pages
Step by step.
Follow your own path.

The theme I have chosen can be summarized as the "Footsteps to Our Future." This relates to Northwood because as we make our way through school we really are taking our footsteps to our future. Everyone has their path they are on and have their own shoes, leaving their own mark on the school along with on the "Northwood family".With the footstep theme we will really take this idea several directions. For example, we can incorporate things like foot/shoe prints into pages and such as well as leave them as waternotes and something to mark the page numbers. We will also incorporate the colors and different color paint splatters throughout the various pages as well. Not only can we weave little details like these through the book, but also things like fun pages and activities like an Awkward Family Photos page, Q&A's, quizzes, "Most Likely To's," inspiring Dr. Suess quotes, "What will your shoes be in ten years?" pages, famous teacher phrases, etc. All these tidbits and things will be included in my theme, "Footsteps to Our Future" and you will catch just a glimpse of all the directions and possibilities this theme provides us with.

For the page number we will use footprints/shoe prints that transition all the colors of the theme.
