EBOLA
Trey Werr, Julia Jorgensen, Elizabeth Wilkinson, Branden Bienz, and Samantha Bamber
Ebola
is a Virus that spreads through contact with the bodily fluids of an infected being
OUr project was to find a plan that would slow down and stop the spread of ebola.
Plan
1. Inform
sending books in native language
pictures and diagrams
send people to translate the information
2. Send in help
medical supplies
protective gear
clean water
uninfected food
3. Separate the infected from the uninfected
quarantine
set up a area for infected
4. dispose of the dead properly
burn those who have died to keep animals from eating the body and acquiring the disease

Cause of Ebola

Many airlines are choosing not to fly into Africa in fear of EBOLA spreading, causing less tourism and revenue coming into Africa. This also causes the airlines to lose money.
Some animals carry the Ebola disease and direct contact with their body fluid can spread there disease to humans ; for example, fruit bats. The disease can also be spread to humans from hunting infected animals such as gorillas or monkeys.
Ebola is a social problem when it comes to education; teachers aren't getting the training they need to teach the children, because other countries don't want to enter Africa in fear of getting the virus. they also have a low number of text books. another social issue is the way the people in Africa handle their food. this is one of the main ways the virus is spread.
The governments of infected nations are making moves to combat the spread of ebola. since animals carry the disease, animal to human contact has been limited. Fluids are being provided to help those in need. Borders are being patrolled, and nations are sending medical teams to help treat the infected.
bats are believed to be the main cause for the origin of ebola
other animals also catch ebola
People eat the infected bats, and are exposed to ebola when they handle the raw meat
People would then try to treat the sick and get infected, themselves, in the process, due to lack of knowledge about the disease

Counter Argument Refutation
Uganda has stopped Ebola outbreaks in the past by informing people about how the virus spreads and what can be done to stop it. They do this by educating people in school and also by setting up signs around the country, informing people about Ebola.
quarantine AND bODY bURNING were rituals back in the 14th Century; they both
HELPED STOP THE SPREAD OF THE BLACK PLAGUE.
Why not just give the attention to the infected countries?
If you inform people all over Africa, then they will all be aware and informed about the virus. By giving attention to ALL THE COUNTRIES, THEY WILL ALL BE PREPARED AND HAVE KNOWLEDGE ON HOW TO TREAT EBOLA.
Evidence
How will the Africans be able to understand the information?

Ebola is continuing to spread, because contact tracing is poor, meaning that people can’t find the people who might have come in contact with someone with Ebola. Because of this they can’t quarantine people.

To help them we can send interpreters to inform them orally, and use different methods of presentation and teaching.
donate to red cross
tax rich in Africa and citizens outside of afirca to help provide for the medical care
Send in military trucks
Where and how will we get the supplies into Africa to inform the people?
