Preventing Violence among Children and Teen in America
Did You Know every 30 minutes a child or teen dies or is injured from a gun? In 2012 18, 270 children and teens died or were injured from guns, 17 classrooms or 20 children every week. Children and teen in America are 17 more times likely to die from gun violence then their peers in high income.
Guns Killed more Preschoolers in one year than they did law enforcement officers in the line of duty
Children and teen gun deaths are most likely to be homicides in contrast to adult gun death which are most likely to be suicides
14 Children and teens die every day from gun violence
The number of children and teens killed by guns in 2010 was nearly five times the number of U.S. soldiers killed in action that year in Iraq and Afghanistan.
