The Epic Heroes Aang vs. Gilgamesh Special elements surrounding Aang's Birth Aang was born in an air temple and is destined to be the be next avatar (one who can control all four elements including fire, water, earth, and air). Usually a person who can control an element can only control one. Special elements surrounding Gilgamesh's birth GIlgamesh was born 1/3 human and 2/3 god. He was born into royalty and was born with super human abilities. Aang's quest! Aang's quest is to master all four elements and to maintain peace among the four nations (fire, earth, water, air). Gilgamesh's quest Gilgamesh has had many quests such as when he fought humbaba because he thought he would achieve immortality by defeating someone who is supposedly unbeatable. Another one of his quests was when he was told to bring back a underwater plant in order to obtain immortality but a serpent rose up and took it. Desire for immortality Aang did not wish for immortality. Although his reputation as a Avatar will never be forgotten because he brought peace to all nations after he triumphed over the fire lord. Desire for immortality Gilgamesh desired to live forever and wasn't really trying to obtain spiritual immortality but rather physical immortality. Gilgamesh had fought humbaba who was undefeated and supposedly who ever defeated him would be immortal. Ofcourse this did not happen so Gilgamesh kept on trying to obtain immortality but in the end he obtained spiritual immortality when he wrote his story on a tablet. Special friend or sidekick Aang had many friends but the ones closest to him were Katara, Sokka, Momo, Appa, and Toph. Special friend or sidekick Enkidu is a sidekick of Gilgamesh. Enkidu was placed beside Gilgamesh to keep him from overpowering and to assist him in his adventures. Archenemy or villain Aang's archenemy is Ozai, who is the leader of the fire nation and wiped out the entire air nation. He tried to conquer all the nations but Aang was there to stop him. Archenemy or villain In the epic of Gilgamesh, the villain is Humbaba. Heroic or tragic flaw Aang awoke after being frozen for over 100 years. The Air Nation, Aang's home nation, has been long wiped off the face of the earth by the The Fire Lord. Heroic or tragic flaw Gilgamesh's greatest flaw was his fear. He feared death so much that he went to great lengths in order to avoid it, ironically losing it all in the end to a serpent. Exhibiting of bravery, courage and/or superhuman strength. Aang defended the four nations against attacks from the fire nation. He can use his powers to bend all the elements to him will. He was only a teenager but he faced the Fire Lord who was a master Fire bender. Exhibiting of bravery, courage and/or superhuman strength. Gilgamesh exhibited great courage and strength when he fought humbaba who was considered unbeatable. Supernatural or divine help The spirit world helped Aang understand what happened and how he must train to accomplish his goals of mastering all 4 elements. The spirits also helped him to master the Avatar-state in which he has complete control over the four elements and is basically unstoppable. Supernatural or divine help Gilgamesh was born part god and he received help from the gods when he was given Enkidu as a sidekick. During the fight with Humbaba, Gilgamesh summoned Shamash, god of sun, to help him defeat Humbaba
