As she grows up Ani develops skills of animal speaking, but is never comfortable speaking with people, so when her, very good at people speaking, lady-in-waiting leads a mutiny with her guards that she chose during Ani’s journey to be married in a foreign land, Ani is helpless and cannot persuade anyone to assist her. Becoming a goose girl for the King, she finds many friends and tells stories of fantasy to them. Ani eventually uses her own special, nearly magical powers to find her way to her true destiny. It is a magical tale of a girl who must find her unusual talents before she can become queen of the people she has made her own. Reading Information Setting Major Characters Favorite Scene My favorite scene is when she is in her little room in the apartment/shack that all the farming children of the king stay, and she makes a friend with one of the geese whom she names Jok, and he sleeps with her in her bed and sits on her shoulder or in her lap at breakfast and she feeds him bits of grass in the fields and he is very stubborn and funny. I like this part because she is always very happy around him and it makes the book even more enjoyable to read. In olden times in a made up land of Kilendree The Goose Girl is Fictional. A.R level 5.9 14 points I think anyone who likes animals and adventure would like this book.
