all these together is known as biosphere. NARROW ZONES OF EXISTENCE OF NATURAL VEGETATION AND WILDLIFE.. An ecosystem, short for 'ecological system', includes all the living organisms existing together in a particular area .
These plants and animals within an area interact with each other and with the non-living elements of the area, such as climate, water, soil and so on.
An ecosystem can be very small, such as a puddle or an area under a large rock, or it can be vast, such as an ocean.
The balance of an ecosystem is delicate, and a disruption such as the introduction of a new element can damage it. vegetation strongly affects soil characteristics ,including soil volume , chemistry and texture.
vegetation serves as wildlife habitat and the energy source for the vast array of animal species on the planet and ultimately to those that feed on these. natural vegetation refers to a plant community which has grown naturally without human aid and has been left undisturbed by human for a long time . Ecosystem vegetation is also important to the world economy particularly in the use of fossil fuels as an energy source but also in the global production of food, wood, fuel and other materials. Forests are found in areas of heavy rainfall.as the amount of moisture decreases the size of trees and their density reduces.in the regions of moderate rainfall short stunted trees and grasses are found. In the dry areas of low rainfall ,thorny shrubs and scrubs grow .In such areas plants have deep roots to get their moisture deep within the earth and leaves have thorny and waxy surface to reduce loss of moisture by transpiration .Tundra vegetation of cold polar regions compromise mosses and lichens.
