Transcript of Christmas in china

In china they have many traditions that are the same but they still do things different. Christmas in China SANTA In china they believe in a Santa figure. But he is a little different than what we call him. They call him Dun Che Lao Ren. In English that means Christmas old man. But they still think of him the same way of giving gifts. Decoration The chinese decorate a lot like us. They decorate their houses with lights and other things. They decorate their trees with paper ornaments and candles. Just like some people here that decorate their trees with paper ornament. Commercial In china there are tons of symbols and signs. They plague the city just like in Utah where you usually can't drive around the city without seeing a store that is selling something. But the Chinese don't mind because that means there are lots of old man Christmases everywhere. Time They celebrate Christmas for one day on December 25. Like the United States. Most of China will celebrate it on the day we are used to and they celebrate the birth of Christ. But mostly the christians celebrate for that reason. Celebration The Chinese celebrate different ways. They decorate their houses. They eat delicious meals on the days coming up to Christmas. They also open their presents on Christmas day. Thoughts In China they think differently of the holidays. Here we spend time with each other and give lots of love. While the Chinese go to plays and recitals. But they close stores, and streets are mostly empty. Dislike In China some people just plain dislike the Holiday. Some even want to boycott it because they think it will destroy their culture. Others say that they think it is a western soft power. Citations . " Santa's Net Christmas tradations around the world ." Christmas in china. Autrailain media.
