Threats to expose weaknesses
Spreads rumors or malicious lies about you
Anger & Emotional Abuse
Puts you down or makes you feel bad about yourself
Calls you names or humiliates you
Makes you think you're crazy
Plays mind games
Makes you feel guilty
Using Social Status
Treats you like a servant
Makes decisions for you
Acts like the "master"
Defines gender roles within the relationship
Makes you afraid by using looks, actions, or gestures
Smashes things or destroys property
Minimize, Deny, Blame
Makes light of abuse
Says the abuse did not happen
Shifts responsibility for abusive behavior
Claim you caused the abuse
Making and/or carrying out threats to hurt someone
Making you drop charges
Making you do illegal things
Threatening to leave, commit suicide, or report you to authorities
Limiting outside involvement
Controls what you do, eat, wear, read, who you talk to, where you go, who you see
Uses jealousy to control your actions
Manipulating or making threats in order to get sex
Gets her pregnant
Getting you drunk or drugging you to get sex
