Transcript of Circulatory System Prezi

The Respiratory, Nervous, Muscular, Excretory, and Digestive systems. The Circulatory System Purposes: Parts: Functions Ciculation Video Works With... *move blood/similar fluid through body
to transport oxygen and nutrients to cells
*remove cell waste & Carbon Dioxide
*Helps to regulate body temperature. (Balance in Homeostasis)
*Fights infections * Heart (muscle)
* Arteries, Veins, Capillaries (blood
vessels)
*Blood Cells By: Ema Macbeth,
Claudia Battezzato,
Cam Beliveau, and
Joey Siriani *Heart- pumps blood through out body
*Arteries- carry blood AWAY from heart
* Veins- carry blood TO heart
* Capillaries- bring nutrients and oxygen to tissue, carry out carbon dioxide and waste
*Red Blood Cells- carry oxygen
*All of this regulates the body temperature and oxygen is moved through the body Heart Diagram www.neok12.com/diagram/

*It's made up of 2 upper chambers (the left & right atria) and 2 lower chambers (left & right vetricles)
*It regulates/controls the flow of blood throughout the body. Blood Cells Blood Vessels http://www.neok12.com/quiz/CIRSYS01 Red Blood Cells:
~the most common type of blood cell
~they deliver oxygen to the body tissues through blood streams
White Blood Cells:
~they defend the body against infectious disease & foreign material *Arteries: they carry oxygenated blood away from the heart
*Veins: they carry deoxygenated blood from body tissues back to the heart
*Capillaries: the smallest blood vessels in the body, they enable the exchange of water, oxygen, carbon dioxide & nutrients between blood
and body tissue. Sources *http://www.worldinvisible.com/apologet/humbody/heart.htm

lungs to be oxygenated, then back to the heart. In the lungs, carbon dioxide is removed from the blood, and oxygen is added to the blood.

Systemic circuit: it carries blood around the body to deliver the oxygen and returns de-oxygenated blood to the heart. The blood also carries nutrients and waste. Pulmonary/Systemic Circuits
