Before Reading
A. I predict that this poem might talk about Jesus returning to earth again. I say this because some people refer to Jesus returning as a second coming.

B. I cannot connect any feelings towards this poem's title.
Line 3 (Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; ) : Things will always fall apart and whatever is in the center cannot hold everything in place anymore.

Line 6 (The ceremony of innocence is drowned; ) : The world is not as innocent as it used to be anymore, because it is full of sin. Day by day the innocence we were born with is drowning with all the sin that we encounter, and feed into.
Paraphrasing cont..
Line 9 Surely some revelation is at hand;) : A change is coming.

Lines 10 & 14 (Surely the Second Coming is at hand; A shape with lion body and the head of a man ) : Something/ someone is coming and they may be coming in both animal and human form.
