A Bit. of information on 2D games BloodRayne: Betrayal follows the story of Rayne the Dhampir (half vampire, half human hybrid) as she works with with an organization who wants to put an end to the Vampire Lord. Blood Rayne: Betrayal 1st Game Art Style BloodRayne: Betrayal's art style has changed from an old realistic looking game to a cell-shaded genre to match the new game style BloodRayne 2 BloodRayne: Betrayal Ha-Ha ^ Gameplay BR: Betrayal incorporates the old style of difficult game play frustrating gamers on the levels and then rewarding them for finishing it. Often seen as an outdated form of gameplay to the modern day youths who like to be walked through levels with their hand held. Character design The Character design of rayne is a simple in order to animate her better Majesco decided to keep the art style of the background and make her of similar design. Bloodrayne: betrayal has a core target audience of 15-25 using art styles and story lines that are simple to understand and incorporating violence... Alot of violence. Demographic Even though BR: Betrayal has a target audience of 15-25 it's fan base is really people who prefer classic style game play a Metroidvania style game. Terraria Terraria is a 2D Crafting game in which you play a customised character that you created at the start that takes inspiration from Minecraft but instead of surviving like Minecraft you aim to become stronger. "Dig, fight, explore, build! Nothing is impossible in this action-packed adventure game. The world is your canvas and the ground itself is your paint" Art design Terraria uses the old 8 bit. retro style art in both the background art and character design. Making the mining aspect easier and simpler Terraria is essentially a 2D crafting game for the PC so it plays like any other 2D platformer for the PC... with WASD. And you mine and build using the mouse and hot keys. Game Play The game features monsters and bosses in order to provide the player with obstacles. Terraria's core demographic is mainly 15-30 years. Demographic Blood Rayne: Betrayal has a linear campaign of 14 chapters each taking roughly 10mins - 30mins depending on speed runs, collectives, simply playing or achieving higher grades. Unlike other metroidvania games this one does not feature a back track style of game play but instead incoperates a ranking system to encourage players to back track and find collectables PC gamers currently, due to the fact its on PC, however must to the dismay of PC fanboys the creators Re-Logic are porting the game to XBLA and PSN Store so soon not just steam will have it. So the demographic age will drop to a younger audience. The Background The background of BR:B has a very stylised feel in contrast with other games in a side scroller genre. For example Super mario brothers (1985) doesnt put much detail into the background because at the time they did'nt have the technology/ funding in 1985 to make the background highly detailed. however the objects and characters in the fore ground blend in well to this. this is probably due to focus more dtail in surrounding enviroments or bosses. Re-logic chose to do this 8-bit style because of 1. they are an indie developer in order to make the game easier for them to make and more time to add polish and smooth out the overall game and 2. because making the game this style means that the mining which is one of the esential gameplay mechanics easier. Re-logic has tried to make Terraria as RPG-ish as possible while still maintaining a mining core mechanic. But to assist the RPG feeling they have included DPS, Health, Mana, an amour leveling system and weapon UP's giving making the player grind for the weapon they want most and the specific UP for that weopon.
