Weather Forecasting
Weather Forecasting tries to predict what the weather conditions will be by measuring and observing the current weather around the world and supplying the data collected to a computer.
Thermometer - to measure temperature
Barometer - to measure air pressure
Anemometer - to measure wind speed
Highly Developed Methods
Weather balloons at various locations around the world.
Satellites orbiting high above the earth.
Environmental monitoring describes the processes and activities that need to take place to characterize and monitor the quality of the environment. Environmental monitoring is used in the preparation of environmental impact assessments, as well as in many circumstances in which human activities carry a risk of harmful effects on the natural environment.

Why is it important?
Many activities generate pollution and other types of damage to the environment. Environmental monitoring is an important tool for determining the impacts and how best to reduce them.
Digital Data
The name "Digital" is given to all devices that store and process data in the form of 'digits' (numbers). Devices such as computers and mobile phones.

Computers receives data from sensors with the help of ADC. And, for sensors to receive the data and process the command, the digital data will need to be converted to analogue data through digital-to-analogue converter (DAC).
Analogue Data
Analogue Date can only be read by analogue devices such as sensors.

In order for computers to read the data collected by these devices, we will need to convert the analogue data to digital through analogue-to-digital converter (ADC).
Reduces health hazards.
Help to prevent the disposal of untreated residues in the soil, air or water, avoiding wildlife and human contamination.
Help companies build relations with socially responsible investors.
The quality and quantity of natural resources can be monitored to identify trends over space and time, which can subsequently guide future management and conservation plans.
