of the gods and ensure divine help I Hope you like my presentation It all started off when some people became priests and priestesses. They started to develop complex ceremonies and rituals. They hoped the rituals would keep the gods happy. They taught the proper dances, songs and prayers. Most of the early civilizations offered sacrifices. They were usually small animals but sometimes they were humans. Why they needed to develop complex ceremonies rituals The reason they thought they needed to develop complex ceremonies was because their biggest religious duty was to please the gods. They thought that natural disasters such as earthquakes, tornadoes, floods and droughts happened because their gods were furious. That is why they needed to develop complex ceremonies and rituals.
