Transcript of Social Networking - Garza

Social Networking Some types of social networks include: document sharing, video/audio sharing, wikis, blogs, picture sharing, music sharing, review sharing, and gaming. Examples of social networks include: facebook, MySpace, Ning, Twitter, Saywire, YouTube, Wikipedia, and Friendster. On social networking sites, you can connect with your friends, family, co-workers, teachers, and fellow students. You can also connect with people you wouldn't normally meet in real life, such as: celebrities, business professionals, people on the other side of the world with similar interests, and businesses. On social networking sites, you can chat with friends, post status updates, send messages, get info, share or listen to music, give your opinions on things, play games, watch videos, look at photos, tag pictures and videos, comment on pictures, and get info about events. What to share: email address, hometown (city/state), birthday, and name. What not to share: SS#, home phone #, address, D.O.B., passwords, and mother's maiden name. Keep private info private!!! If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is! Remember, anything posted on the internet is there... FOREVER. Even if you delete it in a few minutes, it has been backed up on many servers around the world.
