What is plagiarism?
The road to success
is not plagiarism

- According to dictionary.com plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as your own
What's considered plagiarism?
- turning in someone else's work as your own
- copying words/ideas from someone else without giving credit
- failing to put a quotation in quotation marks
- giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation
- changing words but copying the sentence structure of a source without giving credit
What happens if you get caught
In my classroom
1st time - zero on the assignment
2nd time- zero on the assignment and both the principal and guardians will be notified with possible disciplinary actions
3rd time - expulsion from the school
Outside my classroom
- destroyed student/academic reputation
- destroyed professional reputation
- Legal and/or monetary repercussions
