Mary Todd Lincoln Mary was raised by her strict stepmother. She left home in 1839 to be near her sister Elizabeth in Springfield, Illinois Mary Todd Lincoln was born on December 13, 1818 in Lexington Kentucky. Nine months after their marriage they had their first son,four all together. Only two survived into adulthood. On April 14,1865 she sat next to her husband, Abraham Lincoln at the Ford's theater when he was shot by an assassin. Mary never fully recovered from the murder of her husband. She then returned to Illinois to be with her sister again. Mary's son Thomas died in 1871. Shortly after Mary left to be near her sister she met Abraham Lincoln, which they fell in love and they got married on November 4, 1842. They got married in Illinois. She got married when she was 23 years old. Aka- Mary Ann Todd Mary Todd Lincoln Four Sons: Robert Todd Lincoln (1843-1926)

William "Willie" Wallace Lincoln (1850-1862
Thomas "Tad" Lincoln (1853-1871) After the murder of her husband and the death of her son, Mary fell into a deep depression. One of Mary's sons committed her into a insane asylum because of the depression. Three months later, she got released so she could take care of her sister Elizabeth Edwards. Never forgave Robert for betrayal. Spent her late years traveling through Europe. Suffered from declining health. weight 5'2"
